ComForCare FAQs

How do I choose the right in-home care provider for my loved one’s needs?

Because professional care, when done right, is such a deeply personal experience, there is no one good answer for this. What constitutes “the right in-home care provider” will depend on what your loved one needs. Some providers may not be able to provide all the needed support for people with dementia or for people with certain disabilities.

ComForCare has been operating for over 20 years and we’ve created a selection of service offerings that meet almost any need someone might have for at-home care. Additionally, we’ve made it our mission to ensure that each one is some of the best you can get.

Can I change a care plan as my loved one’s needs evolve?

Absolutely! In fact, this is an important part of giving your loved one proper care. Just as no two care plans should be the same, no care plan should stay the same forever. As we age, our care needs change.

Additionally, age is just one of the many factors that can affect how care needs evolve. Our professionals are ready to help you find solutions for such big life changes as:

  • Car accidents
  • Major surgical intervention
  • Change in levels of exertion
  • Stroke & heart attack
  • Slip & fall events

No matter what changes, we’ll be ready to help you and your loved ones adapt and thrive. Care is about more than just “fixing” medical issues as they come up, it’s about improving someone’s health as a whole and enriching their life.

What services are included in individual dementia care for seniors?

Because no two people with dementia are the same, “dementia care” will look different from person to person, but in general dementia care with ComForCare will include things like:

  • Supervision to help keep someone safe
  • Providing enriching activities that engage the mind
  • Doing things to help preserve current ability
  • Prioritize comfort

Redirecting challenging behaviour to help keep someone in a calm, content state as often as possible

I am ready to hire ComForCare as a service provider, how do I get started?

You can contact us and submit a request form, or you can call or email us. We always encourage you to fill out our contact form regardless of if you’re going to call or email, as it can help us start building your file. We recommend that you set up a time for a call so one of our dedicated, passionate team members can speak with you directly. The best way to create a care plan is to get to know you and your loved one and understand what’s needed for everyone’s ComForCare experience to be exceptional.

What is Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) for seniors?

This is essentially a way of offering telehealth through various pieces of health tech to monitor important aspects of a person’s health. This can include using things like:

  • Scales for weight
  • Blood glucose meters
  • Pulse oximeters
  • Blood pressure monitors

This practice is most common for people with chronic health conditions like diabetes, cardiac illnesses, asthma, epilepsy, renal failure, and more.
