Our No. 1 priority is the safety of our clients in their own home. Our personal support workers provide general supervision and supportive assistance while our fall risk assessment can help identify objects that could cause a trip or fall.
Grooming, Bathing and Hygiene
Personal support workers uphold a client’s dignity with respectful assistance with bathing, dressing, hair styling, basic oral care, toileting and incontinence care, and other personal hygiene needs.
Home care often begins as an informal arrangement with family members and their older loved ones. It’s important, though, for families to rest, recharge and attend to their own needs. Whether it’s for a few hours a week or every day, ComForCare can provide outstanding care and peace of mind when family caregivers need a break from caregiving duties.
Our proprietary program, DementiaWise®, enriches the lives of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia at any stage, while educating and supporting their families. DementiaWise helps these individuals do more of what they enjoy in the familiarity and comfort of their home. Personal support workers take special care to recognize behavioural triggers and use redirection, which may help prevent or reduce any challenging dementia behaviours, while helping clients remain independent for as long as possible.
Meal Planning and Preparation
ComForCare can help create meals from planning to plating. Personal support workers can help clients shop for nutritious ingredients and cook it in the clients’ own kitchen. If a client has a condition that requires a special diet, such as diabetes or heart disease, or just needs help eating healthier, our personal support workers are there to help.
Household chores can take more time and effort due to injury, illness or aging. Our personal support workers are happy to assist with light housekeeping tasks such as washing dishes, dusting, vacuuming and folding laundry. This way, clients and their family members can spend more time together.
With transportation assistance, our clients can have the freedom to run errands, attend doctor appointments, enjoy social activities outside the home or to just get out of the house for a while. Personal support workers help clients with mobility, getting in and out of the car. This brings peace of mind to clients and their families.
Meaningful Activities can provide necessary social engagement and interactions, which can help elevate a person’s mood. Personal support workers can play card games, read books or the newspaper, listen to music and sing or just have a chat with clients.

Our Transitions of Care Program[AH2] can provide one-time care services or ongoing care plans, which include a nurse’s evaluation of needs, a customized routine based on the evaluation and home safety checks as needed.
