“My goal is to create space for older adults so they feel comfortable, regardless of background or nationality. My team and I celebrate the diversity and experience of individuals that we pledge to honor while in our care.”
I love working with older adults—they have so much to give. As an integrated community partner, my first goal is to care for my clients like family and help them live life on their own terms. By honoring their background and the diversity of this community, we celebrate life's accomplishments. As they start on or continue their care journey with us, we want them to feel supported every step of the way.
As older adults age, they are sometimes left alone or lack the courage to continue enjoying the things they used to as they don’t want to bother anyone. In turn, their overall well-being can be negatively affected. This keeps me up at night! And part of my life's work is to introduce individuals into my clients life that will help them rediscover their life's passions while receiving the companionship that is so important to living a meaningful life. My second goal is to support my families and other members of my community as we all rally together finding and focusing on resources to promote health and well-being.
“Shifting from a career in advertising to home care is gratifying. I love getting to know my community and making a positive difference in the lives of the people around me.”
That’s why at ComForCare Guelph-Cambridge we work alongside our clients, helping them feel engaged in the care process every step of the way. Honoring my clients for who they are is my priority. It’s important to not only understand their health-related goals, but also balance them with social needs and simply who they are as a person. I put great emphasis on personally getting to know each and every one of my clients and taking the time to match them with a personal care worker who has similar interests. My clients should feel comfortable beginning a friendship with someone who will truly care for them like family. Further, I want all my families to know that my services are here for you too. I’ve experienced firsthand how caring for a loved one can be both challenging and rewarding at times, and I’m here as a resource. I view caregiving as a team sport. Let me be your family's teammate as we walk this care journey together.
